Hi, my name is Jeff. Welcome to my Mariners Fan Blog. I’m a Seattle resident and have been following the Mariners for over 25 years during good times and bad. I love baseball and in addition to playing, coaching and being a fan of the game, I’m the Grandson of Gordon “Dusty” Rhodes MLB Pitcher 1929-36. Baseball is in my blood, and so is the sea after spending 20 years working on tugs and ships. I’m hoping to bring to my fellow fans a fun, informative and interactive Blog that we can all enjoy as we embark on the voyage of the 2011 season.Go M’s!
Oh and just in case you need to see for yourself what kind of Mariners fan I am, take a look at the video clip below of me “Getting out the Vacuum Grandma” as the M’s completed a back-to-back sweep down the stretch in 95. Go Ms!

Hey Jeff,
I moved to Seattle area recently and it is difficult for me to understand both the mindsets of the fans and also the mindsets of the local sportscasters. Maybe you can explain things to me when I don’t understand them since you have been around forever. I have lived in several major markets, most recently in the NorCal bay area.

Jim, Welcome aboard. Lots of background to catch up on. There are some knowledgable Baseball fans around but lots of fairwether types with no appreciation of the history of the game, traditions etc. Feel free to ask questions as we go along or conact me at agitator2@rocketmail.com Go M’s!

Hey Jeff,
Do you think the Ms should make a real serious pitch to aquire free agent slugger Prince Feilder?
Pat, Im not sure. Im trying to not get my hopes up to high. If we dont get him I hope we can add a bat and another starting pitcher even if it is Jamie Moyer to hold us over until Hultzen or Walker are ready. Happy holidays,Jeff
Jeff,
Looks like with Montero now a Mariner, we have a big bat for the middle of the lineup. As I here he is rather poor to average behind the plate, he will most likely be our DH and sometime first basemen. Fielder looks like a no go for whatever reason, and Montero is just another piece of the puzzle, as other moves should be comming soon. Looks like a better product on the feild next year. Getting excited!
